where do we go from here 2

How do we develop telangana? Inclusive growth is the buzz word now. Let us spend some time on this.
As per the census of 2001 telangana population was about 27.5 million and expected to have grown to 35 million by now. Urban to rural ratio is 25:75.
Statistical data on the percapita income and unemployment levels for Telangana are not available. For A.P. these are at Rs 29000 (per capita) and 7%. Let us start with the assumption that per capita income is 25000 and unemployment is at 10% in Telangana.
If we take out the comparitively better off sections forming about 10 % of the society the percapita may go down to to below 20000 level. About employment the less we talk the better. Most of the people are engaged in agriculture related activities and manual labor supporting agriculture and construction work. literacy levels low. The skill levels are poor. Opportunities few.
So here lies the crux of the problem. How do we move this larger section of Telangana society into reasonable stadards of living?

where do we go from here

Hello,

I am Ranadheer Reddy Baddam. Age - 62 years. Graduate Chemical engineer from Osmania University (1969).

Idid not participate in the 68-69 Telangana agitation. I was not aware of the issues at that time except the resentment towards persons from Andhra region. After 40 years I am not certain whether Telangana remains under developed due to exploitation by persons from other regions. Personally I would like all Telugu speaking people to continue in one state.

Let me hasten to add that my intention is not to start a debate on whether Telangana should get separated. I am for development of Telangana (read development of people of Telangana). I am starting this blog to share ideas and views on ways and means of developing Telangana.
